Our target audience is managing director/owners of businesses, government and non-profit organizations with 10+ staff and/or a turnover in excess of $1,000,000. Having said that, we do work with start-up companies and have successfully raised funds for new ventures and individuals.

It will not be a ’walk in the park’. You will definitely not be working more than you do today – more likely less (this is true). But you will be forced to look at your business with a fresh pair of eyes, and you must inspire others to do the same. It can be a painful process.

When the process kicks off we establish how far you want to take it. We will be satisfied only when you have stretched the goal and target definition so far that you don’t believe it anymore. Then we will prove to you that it is completely achievable.

Now we get straight to work. Step by step we address every single thing that might become an obstacle to achieving your new goals. Even issues that are hard to detect and address. Soon your business or company will become lighter, more streamlined and efficient. And even more fun to work in.

We simply lift your entire organisation – even in only a year if you want it. And you will become credited with the most impressive improvement of results your company will have ever made.

Our team will be there for long term cooperation and assistance, and we know that change can take time – that is why our projects need a year or more to be completed, depending on the size of the organisation and the nature of the task. Specific modules, e.g. a feasibility study or a results process, can however be completed and implemented during shorter periods of 6-8 weeks.

The length of time of a business consulting project varies and based on a number of factors including:

  • Business needs and challenges
  • Budget
  • Size of the organization or team
  • Scope of the consulting project

The length of our consulting engagements has varied from a few weeks for a quick training assessment to a few years for enterprise change management and business transformation initiatives.

First of all our initial meeting with you is free; the intention of which is to learn more about your business, establish our credibility with you and see if there is anything that we can help you with. At that point we will agree a commercial rate with you. Typically this is based on a rate appropriate to the service we are providing. Sometimes it may be a fixed fee for a given project. Our experience is that you can quickly recover our costs through the impact we make on the profitability and performance of your business.

Relatively simple, straightforward projects can be as little as $5,000, whereas longer term, more complicated projects can exceed $50,000. Most of our projects fall somewhere between these two extremes. We do not offer any fixed price packages and we generally avoid templates. Before we can give you an estimate, we need to understand your individual situation. This generally requires a brief conversation about your project goals, timetable, budget, scope, and other issues. Although we are far from being the most expensive, we are also rarely the least expensive. If you are looking for the lowest cost solution, or quality is not a concern, then Muasons Group is definitely not a good fit for you. If you are looking for a professional consultant/adviser who does high quality work and inspires trust, please give us a call.

In general, we charge a pre-determined fixed fee. The fee is determined by:

  • The scope of the project, in terms of the tasks and documents you require help with.
  • The sophistication and specific needs of your target audience.
  • The quality of your existing materials, including early drafts of business plans, financial forecasts, market research, competitive research, etc.
  • The clarity of your vision for your business model, marketing and distribution strategy, financial plans, etc.
  • Your availability and willingness to participate in the preparation of the business plan, financial model, and investor presentation.
  • The complexity of your industry and business model.
  • The availability of industry information.
  • The desired timing relative to our workload. In general, “rush” jobs will carry a substantial premium over projects that can be completed as our schedule permits.

Because of these factors, the fees for a typical project, consisting of the preparation of an investor-grade business plan, financial forecast, and investor presentation, can range from a few thousand dollars to several tens of thousands of dollars. By the way, if you are “price shopping,” you should know that price doesn’t tell the whole story. After all, would you choose one car over another simply because of price? Of course not – there are many dimensions you need to consider.

Everything we do is tailored to each client’s individual situation. If you tell us your budget, as long as it is reasonable, we can work with it. Our focus is on delivering HIGH VALUE to clients, NOT low prices. Note that we now even offer business coaching services to startups and early stage businesses.

Depending on the business goals, challenges and size of the organization, a project scope is typically determined during the initial consultation sessions.

For complex challenges and enterprise clients, we typically recommend an assessment phase at the beginning of the project.

This ensures that we identify and prioritize everything correctly and develop the best solution to meet your goals.

In our cooperation we depart from the leadership group and work with implementation of results oriented changes throughout the entire organization.

By removing everything that stands in the way of results and cooperation of our consultants alongside employees and management so that the change finally meets the goal.
 

Therefore we will have a continous presence during the course of the whole project. We will be working progressively, from the boardroom and out through the entire organization, together with managers and employees, in order to effectively implement the methods, mindset, and approaches which will generate results for the organization.

We will be present as much as is necessary for our common efforts to create change and achieve new breakthrough targets to be fruitful.

This varies based on organizational guidelines and the type of travel. This will be outlined in the proposal and final contract.

In the most typical situation, we abide by your travel policies.

In some cases, we build travel costs into the consulting rates. We don’t typically recommend this approach, as it almost always costs you more.

Any travel expenses incurred since the previous invoice will be billed on the next invoice unless they are prepaid or paid directly by a client.

We never add administrative fees or surcharges to travel expenses.

Depending on the goals of the project, some travel might be required. We will determine that together as we define the project plan and scope.

We are moving into our 6th year in the business. Not once has a client questioned any travel expenses with a project. If you have worked with consultants in the past, you know that is a phenomenal feat!

The question is not whether we will achieve the identified results targets – the question is whether your organization will.

Achieving the desired results is guaranteed through mutual cooperation with our clients. We work closely together with our clients to break down overarching goals to the individual level, in order for all employees to see how they contribute and thereby carry responsibility.

We will be present with our clients every week and work with leaders and groups within the business organization.

Clear goals, clear measurability, and an obvious presence in the organization on the part of Muasons is maintained in order to drive the work towards the results targets and breakthroughs.

When deviations occur we will be there to help you handle them immediately, instead of stalling, and to help build in processes to handle such hurdles in the organization continuously.

As an integrated part of the process, and to identify deviations in relation to the goals and ensuring that we are on the right track, the process is followed up by weekly results meetings. In this way – by having a structure and approach to handling deviations – we can avoid crisis work arising from inaction and at the same time, everyone involved in the process will always know where we are at.

Very quickly, certainly within the first 90 days. It is worth stating though that an Muasons consultant is only effective if you are committed to learning and implementing change, and are open to being helped and taught how to improve your business. If you have been in business for a while you will know that ‘quick fixes’ don’t work and meaningful improvement takes time. It normally takes 12 months to effect significant change. You will however see small improvements in your business each month which add up to significant overall improvement.

We are as good as our last job! We are confident in our ability to provide you with a service that will significantly impact your business, therefore, for most of the support we provide there is no long term contract and you are able to cancel at any time with the terms and conditions stated on every project.

You just need to agree with our terms and conditions and sign a contract. This contract will be between you and Muasons which is trading name of Muasons Group.

Although we customize just about everything to your business needs and goals, the typical consulting project is started and organized in the following ways:

  • Initial consultation meeting(s) to determine your goals and current business challenges.
  • If we require deeper information before or during building a proposal, we’ll have you sign a mutual NDA (non-disclosure agreement).
  • We’ll develop a proposal that includes a SOW (statement and scope of work), pricing, timelines and any options or recommendations.
  • Once the scope of the project is agreed, we’ll establish you in our systems for effective collaboration. (if applicable). This will also include a regular communications plan and milestone reporting.
  • We’ll work our brilliance to make you and your business shine.
  • Towards the end of the project, we’ll finalize knowledge transfer so the results are sustainable. 

Although we’ll do an official closeout of the project, we’ll always be checking in to ensure that everything is working the way it should and you continue seeing the results you expect.

Working with consultants shouldn’t be a hassle. We work with you and your teams to make sure the experience and process are great while working towards your goals and the operations of your dreams.

Yes. In most instances we can parachute into your business and start providing our services straight away.

We believe we are, because:

  • We Succeed: We are well aware that there are many low-end business plan consultants offering their services for under $5,000. Some of these consultants do fine work, but their typical client is the small business seeking SBA and bank loans, not venture capital. Consider that, even during the height of the market, fewer than 1 in 100 business plans that made it into the hands of a VC ever raised capital (and the number is probably worse than 1 in 250 today). Who do you think prepared many of those unsuccessful plans? On the other hand, well over half of our plans have raised capital. 

  • Your Time is Too Valuable: Let’s consider a $20,000 engagement consisting of a sophisticated VC-grade plan, financials, and pitch deck. In our experience, it would take most entrepreneurs a minimum of 500 hours to create comparable materials. If you choose to do it yourself, you are implicitly valuing your time at just $40 per hour. Surely, you can create more value per hour for your venture by focusing on your product, customers, and distribution channels!

  • Professionalism Adds Value: We can complete the same engagement in about 100 hours. This implies a rate of $200 per hour. You’re probably paying your CPA at least $200 per hour, your attorney at least $300 per hour, and your name-brand management consultant at least $450 per hour. Yet these are all essentially commodities: a good attorney is easy to find, but a good business planner is very rare. We believe that our experience and specialized skills are a bargain compared to the many other professional services you employ.

The implementation of the approach intended to generate results breakthroughs for our clients takes place throughout the organisation together with all employees.

This depends on the size of the organisation – we aim to work towards results as a collective whole. This, however, can also be with a mother- or daughter-company or a production unit.

Muasons is a partner for your entire company, we work not only with management but with all the employees, then the results are created and built by the result unit in its entirety.

In cases where we are e.g. asked to work with a company’s sales organisation this most often implies having to actually address the organisation as a whole, especially when working with small- to medium-sized companies.

Yes.

Managers and business leaders ought to master what is needed to perform on a daily basis and achieve ordinary budget targets. But here we are talking about achieving something way beyond the ordinary – your managers might actually be capable of this but our consultants will get on board to ensure that they actually do.

It is as with fitness: everybody should exercise. Why don’t they?

Generally because they need a personal trainer or something to help you ensure it gets done and that you do it in the right way, with the right expectations and targets.

We offer a variety of our services to all levels of businesses (small, medium, large). Our team of specialist has experience and ability to provide consultation to all kind of businesses.

We work with non-profit organizations, including counties and municipalities. As long as we are a good fit in terms of skills and expertise we are happy to work with any legitimate organization. In fact, several of our largest and most complex engagements have been with non-profit organizations.

No. The consultant will work independantly in your company or other places such as an office, meeting with banks, or potential clients. He/she will act as an employee of the company (without of course being employed by you). A consultant will make sure that the workforce, senior management and junior management are aware of what they are doing and may choose to interview the senior and junior management. However this would only be undertaken at convenient times without disrupting the operations of the company.

No, we have a team of specialist and one of our consultants will be assigned to you based on availability. 

The undertaking we engage in with our clients is mutual. Together we will join hands and do everything in our power to achieve the ambitious results breakthroughs we have identified together.

We are always so invested in the projects we undertake with our customers that we actually are willing to risk our fees. Therefore we, on Muasons’s part, also invest the time necessary for the client to achieve the goals. And we must go all the way before the customer is liable to compensate us in full.

We work with many different types of goals on our projects and many clients reach their goals, but not all reach all goals. On the other hand, we have no clients who do not achieve at least some of the established targets, and it is of great importance to our viability that they do achieve them.

Consultants at Muasons has one goal in mind – to help your organization achieve performance goals that you previously thought were impossible

In the unlikely event that you do not agree with a consultant’s findings he/she will discuss the reasons why and will always leave the final decision to you.

The objective of an Muasons consultant is to improve the company, grow the company, eliminate money losses and make the company much more profitable and secure. When this message is conveyed correctly to the workforce, they usually want to co-operate in any way they can.

Absolutely. The Muasons Business Consulting Code of Ethics strictly forbids any of our consultants to discuss your business with anyone. This also applies to any specialists who are engaged to work in the company. We are very proud that we have never ever had a complaint about any of consultants regarding client confidentiality. If a consultant feels it is necessary to brainstorm with other consultants to gain greater insight to a particular situation or find alternative solutions to a difficult problem, the company name or other identifying information would not be divulged.

Once we have determined that there is a good match between your needs and Muasons capabilities, we can send you a mutual non-disclosure agreement. This agreement protects both parties from disclosure of confidential information. And, if you become a client of Muasons Group, our standard contract provides ample protection that covers most circumstances.

We are headquartered in New York, and have consultants in and around the world, other locations. We rely heavily on the phone, e-mail, fax, and online meeting tools, and have never met half of our clients. If desired, we are available to visit you at your offices for a day or two at a time.

No. We are never too advanced for a client, but there are clients who are too good for us. – Companies which already have a good internal culture and structure, and with the right preconditions for creating results breakthroughs and identifying ambitious targets.

 

We work hard to satisfy our clients. If you will not be satisfied with our service we will try to fix the issues and we can refund you partial payment after deducting our admin fee and the cost of work done by our professionals. In some situations we might not refund anything in which case we will write an apology letter if needed.

We do both.

Depending on the scope of the project, we typically develop fixed price contracts. This allows you to have a defined budget with no surprises.

Time and materials contracts are more appropriate for short-term consulting projects or projects that are more urgent and there isn’t the time to properly scope the core issue(s) during the proposal phase.

We accept all payments methods: online transfer, deposit in account, direct debit, PayPal. We also accept payment with all major payment cards.

Even if you’re a new Muasons client, if the project scope is significant, we’ll build in volume discounts. These discounts will be clearly outlined in the proposal pricing.

Volume discounts can range anywhere from 5% to 30% of our typical consulting rates.

Yes, of course but refund will be provided only if you qualify.

If you decide to cancel after start of the agreement no refund will be issued to you. However, if you want to cancel before start of the agreement you will get refund after deducting the charges of our professional work and admin fee.

Your initial payment is non-refundable. This is because by the time you have decided to hire us, we have already set aside time to work with you, and we may even have turned away other opportunities in order to provide you with the best possible experience. Subsequent payments are subject to a pro-rated refund if you choose to terminate the project before we have fully earned the subsequent payment. For example, suppose fees for your project are broken into three payments, each covering 20 hours of services. The initial payment covers the first 20 hours, and the second payment covers the next 20 hours. If you change your mind about the project after we have put a total of 30 hours into the project, you would be entitled to a refund for half of the second payment because we will only have earned 10 hours of it.
